Arion Baroque Orchestra would like to express its gratitude for the generous support of the Sandra and Alain Bouchard Foundation, whose commitment to youth resonates deeply with our mission. Thanks to their support, we are able to offer young musicians and music lovers unique opportunities to discover, learn and flourish through baroque music.
Their contribution brings to life projects that open doors: educational workshops, privileged access to rehearsals, meetings with artists, and initiatives that encourage the participation of young people from diverse backgrounds. Together, we believe that music can spark curiosity, nurture creativity and support the development of future generations.
This year, the INLB Foundation donated nearly $75,000 through its organizational support programme to fund initiatives aimed at improving the lives of people with visual impairments. Thanks to this support, a variety of projects are coming to life: making music and theatre more accessible, offering adapted sports activities, and providing essential support services. Together, these actions contribute to a more inclusive, vibrant and supportive community.
Arion Baroque Orchestra is deeply grateful to be among the organisations supported this year, alongside the Association sportive des aveugles du Montréal métropolitain, the Maison québécoise du théâtre pour l'enfance et la jeunesse, the Théâtre du Rideau Vert and the Regroupement des aveugles et amblyopes du Montréal métropolitain.
The Arion Foundation is committed to providing ongoing support to the Arion Baroque Orchestra, enabling it to present electrifying performances, make music accessible to all, develop its educational projects and nurture the next generation of musicians.
The Arion Foundation was created in 2005 on the initiative of Arion's Board of Directors, then chaired by Suzanne Masson. Since 2009, Mr. François Mongrain has been President of the Foundation, guiding its initiatives and growth.
In 2019, the Foundation created the Claire Guimond Perpetuity Fund to support the orchestra's financial stability and long-term success. This shows the Foundation's commitment to preserving the Arion Baroque Orchestra's legacy and its important contributions to culture, notably to Montreal's cultural life.
