DATES AND VENUE:
Saturday, March 6, 2027 at 7:30 PM
- Bourgie Hall
Sunday, March 7, 2027 at 2:30 PM
- Bourgie Hall

Beyond a display of virtuosity and soundscapes, Beethoven’s piano concertos are intimate diaries in which he immerses himself in a dialogue with an orchestra that takes on new proportions. Élisabeth Pion and Arion, conducted by Mathieu Lussier, present the 3rd and 5th concertos, framed by Beethoven’s dramatic Coriolan Overture as well as a hitherto unpublished overture from the comic opera La Méprise by the French composer Sophie Gail, a contemporary of Beethoven.

Presented in coproduction with Bourgie Hall.

PROGRAM:

Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827)
Coriolan, op. 62
Piano Concerto No. 3 in C minor, op. 37
Piano Concerto No. 5 in E-flat Major, op. 73 “Emperor”

Sophie Gail (1775-1819)
La Sérénade* - Overture

*Orchestral material provided by Palazzetto Bru Zane Editions
