Music has always been an important part of his life. Piano, violin, organ, it was finally the trumpet that took him to Cégep Ste-Foy to study with Marc Carmichael. He continued his training at the Conservatoire de Musique de Québec with Geoffrey Thompson, graduating unanimously in 2009. During this period, he experimented with the baroque trumpet, for which he developed a particular affection. He also worked with other renowned teachers and was a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Canada in 2007. Simon has been 2nd trumpet with the Drummondville Symphony Orchestra since 2009 and was principal trumpet with the Voltigeurs de Québec until 2017. An active freelancer, he collaborates with various ensembles, including Arion, Les Violons du Roy, I Musici de Montréal and Productions Strada, with whom he participates in shows for young and old, combining world music and clowning. Simon is also an appreciated piano technician-tuner.
