Winner of the singing competition at the Paris Conservatory (CNSM de Paris), Révélation Classique award from ADAMI, Matthieu Lécroart performs in numerous theaters and concert venues, both in France and abroad (London, Brussels, Geneva, Madrid, Vienna, Budapest, Berlin , Delhi, Shanghai, Tokyo, Chicago, New York), and in a vast repertoire including the roles of Rigoletto, Germont (La Traviata), Figaro (The Barber of Seville), Narciso (Il Turco in Italia), Don Giovanni and Leporello (Don Giovanni), Figaro and Bartolo (The Marriage of Figaro), Don Alfonso (Così fan tutte), Papageno and the Sprecher (Die Zauberflöte) Valentin (Faust), Escamillo (Carmen), Athanaël (Thaïs), Golaud ( Pelléas et Mélisande), Méphistophélès (The Damnation of Faust).
He recently played Don Diègue during the re-creation of Chimène ou Le Cid by Sacchini on tour with ARCAL, as well as King Hilpéric in Frédégonde by Saint-Saëns at the Ho Chi Minh City Opera (Vietnam), under the direction of Patrick Souillot.
In December 2018, he played the roles of Thierry, Javelinot and the Jailer in the Dialogues des Carmelites at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, which he reprised at the Théâtre de Caen and the Teatro Comunale in Bologna. During the 2018-2019 season, he sang the title role in Raoul Barbe-Bleue by Grétry at the Trondheim Baroque Festival (Norway), as well as Bartolo in Massy.
In 2019, he played Célestin/Floridor in the revival of Mam’zelle Nitouche by Hervé at the Opéra de Tours and at the Capitole de Toulouse, then he portrayed his first Méphistophélès in Gounod’s Faust at the Zénith d’Orléans with the Fabrique Loire Valley Opera. At the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, he also played the role of Antonio in Le Nozze di Figaro directed by James Gray and directed by Jérémie Rhorer. Then he played Publio in La Clemenza di Tito at the Liceu de Barcelona directed by David McVicar as well as Zuniga in Carmen at the Monte Carlo Opera.
Recently, he has played the King V’lan in Le Voyage dans la lune in Nice, Limoges, Vichy, Clermont-Ferrand, Compiègne, Rouen, Massy, Metz, Reims, Avignon and Neuchâtel, Larivaudière in La Fille de Madame Angot, Lord Rocheford in Anna Bolena and Géralde/Jupiter in Ariane et Bacchus de Marais at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, as well as Antonio in Luxembourg, at the Royal Opera of Versailles and, under the direction of Gustavo Dudamel, at the Opéra National de Paris .
He also played the roles of Agoragine and Hérault in Phryné by Saint-Saëns at the Opéra Comique, Capulet in Roméo et Juliette in Grenoble, without forgetting Gudleik in Hulda by César Franck with the Palazzetto Bru Zane in Liège, Namur and at Théâtre des Champs-Elysées. He also tackles, for the first time, the role of Pandolfe in Cinderella at the Limoges Opera.
Among his upcoming projects, he will notably play the Garde-Chasse in Rusalka in Metz and Reims, Larivaudière at the Opéra Comique, Nice and Avignon, D’Estillac in La Veuve Merière in Marseille, Nourabad in Les Pêcheurs de pearls in Bordeaux and at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, as well as the Chamberlain in Le Rossignol by Stravinsky and the Theater Director in Les Mamelles by Tirésias in Nice.
