Arion welcomes Swiss violinist Leila Schayegh to Montreal for the first time. Praised for her embodied and ravishingly cantabile playing, she is sure to enthrall in a vibrant program exploring many facets of the concerto grosso genre, featuring the rich, shimmering colors and textures of a baroque string orchestra. From Corelli and Georg Muffat to Vivaldi, these concertos for several instruments will reveal not only the variety of writing and styles of these great composers, but also the communicative complicity they offer the performers to share with the audience.
